Degree in Early Childhood or related field and significant experience in a Head Start (or similar) program serving 3-5 year olds.  Prefer CLASS Reliable; knowledge of CLASS and The Creative Curriculum for Preschool required.  Effective communication skills and ability to provide appropriate feedback required.   • Ensures the facility is in full compliance with all federal, state and local ordinances, regulations and codes.

Preferred: Upperclassmen with at least 60 earned credit hours and experience navigating the trials of college enrollment and persistence. Experience and/or understanding of the problems and concerns of low-income, first generation and minority students. People oriented; good organizational and communication skills; knowledgeable in discipline area; ability to maintain accurate record keeping; and ability to motivate students in an academic subject matter or related instructional area that corresponds to study skills.  

Job Summary: Facilitators will provide appropriate instruction within specific academic subject areas and/or areas that correspond with the appropriate program strategies, such as ACT prep, financial literacy, career planning, college planning, etc.  Facilitators will work with students ONE Saturday per month at Carson Newman University.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and supervise students assigned to classes;
  • Provide continuous feedback on student success/weakness to the Director and Lead Educational Advisor;
  • Deliver classes on schedule and in a manner which effectively motivates changes in students and promotes favorable attitudes;
