Facilities/Maintenance Manager – full-time, full-year, exempt
Hamblen County: Central Office

Responsible for managing the maintenance, repairs, renovations, security, and construction of all buildings, including supervision of maintenance personnel. Must be organized with good communication skills; able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously; and able to delegate responsibilities. Must ensure facilities are operated and maintained in compliance with Head Start, federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements. 

Minimum Associates degree in related area and experience in facilities/maintenance management and prior supervisory experience required. The ability to organize, plan, and accomplish goals; work with inspection officials as related to childcare facilities; and maintain effective working relationships is essential. Communication, organization, and recordkeeping skills are a must.

Criminal background check required. Travel in the eight county service area is required, over-night travel is possible. Pay is based on education and related experience.  EOE.

Apartment Manager
Location: Sparta
Program: Rental Management
Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of insurance on automobile.
  • Computer literacy, including strong word processing, spreadsheet and internet skills.
  • Able to deal tactfully with the public, tenants and co-workers, and to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists all who wish to apply for tenancy at an apartment complex.
  • Maintains facility in a clean and safe condition, insures that all repairs are completed as needed, grounds are maintained and facilities are secure.
  • Completes and maintains appropriate paperwork and files on tenants, including rent collections charts and purchasing accounts.
  • Ensures the facility is in full compliance with all federal, state and local ordinances, regulations and codes.
  • Actively communicates with all tenants and provides a minimum amount of assistance to make sure they are maintaining normal health habits.
  • Collects, records and deposits rent and security deposit money.

Job Title:
Site Manager/Delivery Driver
Location: Sevier County
Program: Senior Nutrition Program
Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with record keeping procedures.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises SNP staff and volunteers at designated site.
  • Plans and implements a volunteer recruitment and training program.
  • Receives and records money contributions and makes bank deposits.
  • Prepares required reports for program such as meal sheets, time sheets, monthly inventory, food temperature sheets, financial reports. Forwards all paperwork to Central Office for payment.
  • Delegate/assists preparation of and cleaning of congregate dining area.
  • Delegates/assists cleaning of coolers daily using soap, water and bleach.
  • Drives and delivers meals to the homes of all SNP home delivered meal participants on specified route as needed.

Family Service Worker – 37.5 hours/week, school year
Sevier County: Based at Underwood

Prefer degree in Social/Human Services and work experience with preschool children and families; or SSCBT or equivalent certification and relevant work experience; High School diploma or GED required.  Responsible for recruiting children, home visits, completing applications according to federal guidelines; utilizing existing community resources in meeting families’ physical and financial needs; assist parents in setting goals and working toward self-sufficiency. Ensure all children have complete required medical and dental screenings/exams.   • Provide direct supervision of students and facilitators at night.
  • Monitor hallways and lobbies of dorms to ensure students are in their rooms.
  • Compete room check offs to ensure students are in their rooms.
  • Report issues such as maintenance, safety concerns, etc. to Upward Bound staff.
  • Help students line up for breakfast, then walk them to the cafeteria.
  • Complete breakfast check off and make sure all students are accounted for.

  • Previous experience in light maintenance work such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs.
  • Possess good general mechanical aptitude and prior experience in apartment maintenance.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on automobile.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with staff and tenants, make good decisions and give careful attention to work.
  • Must live on site in apartment provided at complex.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs light maintenance duties such as minor plumbing, painting, electrical or carpentry repairs.
  • Changes return air filters on regular basis and light bulbs as needed.
  • Mows grass on property as necessary. Trims plants and shrubs as needed, may use weed eater.
  • Rakes leaves, removes limbs, debris, cleans sidewalks as needed in all seasons.
  • Picks up trash around buildings. May clean gutters.
  • Cleans, sweeps, mops and empties trash in office building area.
  • Prepares apartment for new tenant after previous tenant moves out. May involve painting, cleaning and minor repair.
  • May accompany pest control or other contracted service workers as needed.
  • Responds to after-hour emergency calls if present on property.
