Teacher, Infant/Toddler – 37.5 hours/week, Year Round
Hamblen – Early Head Start     

Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. CDA or degree related to ECE and a minimum of one year’s experience teaching infant/toddlers required. Early Head Start teachers must have, at a minimum, a CDA credential and have been trained (or have equivalent coursework) in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Will plan educational, developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers and provide care in a responsive and respectful manner. Will perform activities and services to meet Head Start/Early Head Start standards.  Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license, transportation for work-related duties, and liability insurance.  Mileage is reimbursed.  Professionalism in regard to Confidentiality is essential. Job Title: Community Services Advocate
Location: Hamblen County
Program: CSBG LIHEAP
Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be a resident of Hamblen County.
  • Experience in detailed record keeping.
  • Ability to compile and maintain client records and handle confidential information
  • Ability to communicate well with low-income clients and the general public.
  • Responsible and dependable
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and data entry.
  • Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on automobile.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a source of information and link between the low-income residents of the area and the NSC and inform them of available services.
  • Prepares client applications, insures all documentation is correct according to guidelines and procedures, records all client contact and information, keeps up-to-date client records as required and assists clients with services as needed for all grant programs. Enters client data into computer.
  • Assist with and helps prepare reports.
  • Maintains NSC supply inventory.
  • Develops a working knowledge of all DCEA Personnel Policies, reporting procedures and NSC office procedures.
  • Promotes various community programs and meetings of interest to low-income persons.
  • Provides home visits to clients who cannot come to the Center to apply for services.
  • Conducts LIHEAP monitoring visits.
  • Travels within the county, to and from the Central Office and to meetings when necessary.
  • Provides services to low-income clients, processes applications, deals with clients in a professional manner.
  • Assists Senior Nutrition Program with initial program assessments and re-assessments, preparation of meals, delivery of home delivered meals, and provision of congregate meals as needed on a substitute basis.

Job Title:
Site Manager/Delivery Driver (If you have a special place in your heart for the Senior Citizens in your community, then this might be just the job for you!)

Program: Senior Nutrition Program
Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with record keeping procedures.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises SNP staff and volunteers at designated site.
  • Plans and implements a volunteer recruitment and training program.
  • Receives and records money contributions and makes bank deposits.
  • Prepares required reports for program such as meal sheets, time sheets, monthly inventory, food temperature sheets, financial reports. Forwards all paperwork to Central Office for payment.
  • Delegate/assists preparation of and cleaning of congregate dining area.
  • Delegates/assists cleaning of coolers daily using soap, water and bleach.
  • Drives and delivers meals to the homes of all SNP home delivered meal participants on specified route as needed.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education along with a State Teacher’s Certification. A minimum of two years teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with principals, teachers, program staff, volunteers, parents and students.
  • Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on automobile

  • Assists Lead Tutor/Parent Training Specialist in planning and conducting after school tutorial activities following program guidelines and protocol.
  • Provides continuous feedback of student’s success/weakness to lead tutor/parent specialist throughout tutorial/parenting activities.
  • Collects data for evaluation as required by lead tutor/parent training specialist.
  • Delivers programs and services on schedule and in a manner which effectively motivates changes in students/adults and promotes favorable attitudes.

Is non-judgmental and has a respect for and understanding of the Appalachian and/or Hispanic culture as relative to target group.
Education/Experience Qualifications: Must possess a High School diploma or GED. Preference will be given to the individuals holding an Associate’s Degree and/or experience working with students in an academic setting. Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on automobile. Spanish bilingual preferred in some programs.
