Job Title: Family Service Worker

Program: Head Start
Job Description:   Responsible for the recruitment of Head Start children via door-to-door recruitment, home visits, and doing applications according to federal guidelines; work with and utilize existing community agencies in meeting the physical and financial needs of families; assist Head Start parents in identifying family needs, setting goals, and working toward self-sufficiency. Ensure all children have complete medical and dental screenings and arrange for physical and dental examinations and other health needs. Act as an advocate for Head Start families within the program and the community.

Education/Experience Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required.; prefer degree in Social/Human Services and work experience with preschool children and families or a Social Services Competency Based Training Credential (SSCBT) or equivalent certification and relevant work experience.  Must have the ability to communicate openly with community resources, professionals, parents, and children.  Empathy with Head Start/Early Head Start children and families is required.

Job Description: Develops a working knowledge of Agency accounting policies and procedures, providing general ledger management. Develops a working knowledge of the accounting software. Maintains and sets up ledger codes. Reconciles, reports and maintains general ledger entries and adjustments. Maintains and prepares reports for federal, state and local grants as assigned. Maintains and enters general journal adjusting entries. Maintains and enters program budgets.

Education/Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Associate’s degree in accounting required, with a minimum of 2 years accounting experience. Computer proficiency is a must and experience with accounting software and internet usage helpful.

Job Title: Site Coordinator

Job Description: Oversees and/or manages daily operations at project sites. Works with County Coordinator to plan activities, recruit volunteers, supervise and train staff and volunteers. Acts as liaison between school and project. Works cooperatively with regular school staff and lead tutors to obtain information about academic and behavioral needs and progress. Collaborates with school teachers to prepare customized learning programs.

Education/Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education or similar field with a minimum of two years teaching and/or administrative/supervisory position related to the program’s goals and objectives. Demonstrated ability and experience in organizing and managing an educational/enrichment program. Commitment to assisting students and parents achieve their full potential. Ability to work effectively with children with physical, developmental or learning disabilities. Should also have experience in designing/modifying existing educational curricula and materials to meet unique learning needs of individuals. Should have appropriate knowledge and sensitivity to low-income participants and in outreach and recruitment of that group.

Presents Responsible Fatherhood and financial literacy curricula in group setting, facilitating discussion of participants. Assists with employability skills training including interviewing, resume writing and job searches. Facilitates and coaches adult learners in developing parenting skills using small group settings. Travels in service area and to meetings as necessary.
Education/Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required in social work, education/counseling or related human service field. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. One year experience in facilitating and coaching adult learners to develop parenting skills. At least one year experience in providing case management services, including job search, placement services and building money management skills for low income families. Experience with word processing, spread sheet, data entry. Experience with internet and social media helpful. Must have valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on vehicle.

Job Description: The Infant/Toddler Teacher will supervise staff and volunteers by ensuring policies and procedures are followed at all times; will ensure the classroom schedule is followed by all staff; will plan educational, developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers and provide care in a responsive and respectful manner. The Teacher will perform activities and services to meet Head Start/Early Head Start standards.

Education/Experience Qualifications: An Associate  degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. An Infant/Toddler CDA and  experience in a high-quality preschool classroom required.  Will consider Preschool CDA with the ability to obtain Infant/Toddler credential as required by the Head Start Act. Must work well with parents and staff; infants and toddlers. Job Description: Develop and assist with the facilitation of individual, group and collaborative service learning activities supporting the TOP curriculum during and after the regular school day and during the summer months. Develop and maintain processes to track and evaluate academic and co-curricular service programs including the evaluation of service learning sites and placements, and the assessment of student learning achieved through such programs. Provide written reports on the results to the Program Manager. Facilitate partnerships between the community and the program as they relate to service learning and community based research. Serve as the first point of contact for community partners; coordinate and collaborate with other schools and organizations. Communicate service-learning opportunities to students, teachers and project staff. Facilitate agency communication and collaboration with existing school-based learning programs and with co-curricular and volunteer service programs to foster collaboration in development of curriculum-based approaches to service learning and avoid competition.

Education/Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, health education, or related field. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Experience in planning and implementing positive youth development programs working with at-risk youth preferred. Exhibits genuine care and concern for teens. Knowledgeable of adolescent development and current issues impacting teens while exhibiting support and acceptance of teens.

Conducts financial aid and college/career workshops in target counties. Refers participants to ABE/GED/adult high schools and other support services as necessary. Establishes and maintains coordinating relationships with service providers serving special needs groups with all post-secondary institutions, GED/ABE programs, Adult High schools and high schools in target counties. Establishes, provides orientation and meets with advisory committees on a quarterly basis. Assists advisory committees in creating and awarding scholarship funds. Maintains participant and project records in accordance with funding source and agency requirements. Provides evaluation data for monthly, quarterly and final reports.

Education/Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in educational or human/social services field with previous training or experience in academic or career counseling, assessment methods, knowledge of financial aid and college admissions processes. Two years of experience is preferred. Strong public relations skills, energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated and good communication skills. Computer proficiency is a must and experience with client software and internet usage is helpful. Must have valid Tennessee driver’s license and proof of liability insurance on automobile.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
