Morristown Hamblen

YouthBuild Project

 

The Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority, Inc.'s Morristown Hamblen YouthBuild Project is funded by a grant from the Department of Labor via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The YouthBuild Program assists at risk, high school dropout youth in obtaining their GED, gain pre-postsecondary skills, while providing paid occupational training, these young people develop leadership skills and participate in community service opportunities thus learning to give back to their community. Further, the goal of the YouthBuild Program is to encourage and support youth to pursue post secondary education in college or technical school to prepare them for "green technology" jobs.

Counties Served: Hamblen, Jefferson, Grainger and Cocke

Clients Eligible: Ages 18-24, High School Drop Out (does not have GED, is not eligible for traditional high school), Low-Income Individuals, At-risk Youth (out of foster care, offenders, etc.)
