| The child care certificate program is a Department of Human Services contract program that is funded by the State/Federal government. We serve fifteen counties surrounding Knox County. We have case managers that are stationed in the DHS offices in all fifteen counties. | ||
| The Child Care Certificate Program is only serving clients that are referred from the Department of Human Services and are given a Child Care referral based on eligibility for Families First or Transitional Care Program. The "low-income" or non-referred clients are not being served at this time. The State was placing these clients on a "waiting list" but has recently closed the waiting list as well. The amount paid for the certificates varies and is sometimes based and is sometimes based on income. The State is currently trying to come up with funding for eligible "low-income" parents so that they can work or go to school, but at this time, it is not possible. For more information, please contact our office at (423) 581-5454. | ||
